Responsibilities :
1. Automate, deploy, handle, and maintain cloud-based AWS production systems.
2. Evaluate new technology alternatives.
3. Ensure the performance, scalability, and security of AWS cloud-based production system.
4. Leverage best practices to provide the system and AWS cloud security.
5. Manage the creation, configuration, and release of production systems.
6. Ensure quality before production and provide recommendations for process improvement.
7. Troubleshoot systems and provide problem resolution for different applications and platforms.
8. Design, maintain and manage tools that automate multiple business processes.
9. Define and deploy systems for metrics and monitoring on the AWS platform, etc.
Requirements:
1. BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent, or a Bachelor’s in an unrelated field with at least 2 years of professional experience.
2. 2+ years of experience working with AWS core services (EC2, VPC, ELB, S3, CloudFormation, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, API Gateway, etc).
3. Experience with designing, deploying, scaling, monitoring and managing systems on Kubernetes, including EKS.
4. Very strong scripting and automation skills – you believe we should automate just about everything.
5. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, securing, and improving manually configured AWS
environments.
6. Experience in Application Performance Monitoring and log aggregation at scale.
7. Familiar with the concepts of microservice architecture and how those concepts are implemented in
AWS with services such as API Gateway.
8. Installing, configuring, and managing DBMS and RDS’s such as MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL,
MongoAtlas, and Snowflake.
9. Experience with path/host based routing for application load balancers.
10. Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
11. Experience supporting application development teams who work in an iterative-based development environment using Agile/Scrum/Kanban.
12. Solid understanding of AWS billing and cost modelling.
13. Experience using configuration management tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, AWS CDK
(Cloud Development Kit).
14. An appreciation for pragmatism and simplicity in systems architecture.
15. Intellectually curious – prepared to challenge and be challenged.
16. Constantly strive to learn new technologies and look for ways to stay up to date in this rapidly
changing industry.
